Real Time Information
Appropriate real-time information can offer an organisation huge business advantages. However the key point is ‘appropriate’; irrelevant information will only cloud understanding of what is key and can delay decision making, or even worse induce the wrong decision.
Any real time information solution needs to be made up of different constituent parts, addressing:
- Data retrieval- avoid unwanted load on the source system
- Data publishing- allow information display in a form most natural for the particular user e.g. data on-screen, via reports and via web-enabled mobile devices
- Alarming- suppress alarms that cascade from a single cause, highlight out-of-range values, send automatic e-mail and/or SMS notifications
- Appropriate level abstraction- show users only the high level information relevant to their role, with the ability to drill down where necessary
Discoverant from BIOVIA
Discoverant is primarily targeted at biologics, chemical API and pharmaceutical manufacturing processes.
It provides process development, quality, and manufacturing users with self-service, on demand access to process and quality data from disparate databases and paper records. It automatically aggregates and contextualises the data and enables ad-hoc statistical investigations and analysis with automated validation ready work flows to provide browser-accessible outputs for teams of observational users. This includes across different organizations and geographies, offering the opportunity to improve the working relationship with contract manufacturing organisations (CMOs).
DAI has been implementing Discoverant projects since 2002, providing development, support and training services to a wide range of Discoverant customers throughout Europe. This partnership has seen the ownership of Discoverant move from Aegis, to Accelrys and now BIOVIA (Dassault Systemes). Throughout this time, we have remained the primary European Channel for solution delivery.
PI from OSIsoft
PI allows the capture and subsequent use of sensor-based data across your organisation to improve efficiency, sustainability, quality and safety. The PI system, through its infrastructure implementation, facilitates the bridging of information across previous information silos, to make it accessible to all that need to view and act on the information.
DAI are a formally accredited Implementation and Integration Partner of OSISoft for their PI Historian and Real Time Data Management platforms. DAI delivers, configures, integrates and supports the PI system across the full breadth of the Energy Sector.
Matflo Reporting from DAI
Matflo Reporting is an independent, fully configurable reporting package that can be delivered either as part of a larger Matflo implementation or as an independent reporting package to sit alongside your existing supply chain solutions infrastructure.
Users can create their own multi-segment reports using SQL. Reports can contain tabular and graphical sections and can be scheduled to run automatically at certain times or on certain days. Reports can then be published to end users via the Matflo user interface, or as data files published via email or ftp to defined users.
Through its unique architecture Matflo Reporting does not place any uncontrolled performance overhead on the live operational database.
It is database-agnostic and is typically installed with Oracle and SQL Server databases.
