Location: Manchester and/or London
Look around. Every object, every product you use, every piece of every building has taken a long and complex journey from its creation to its current resting place. The industry managing that journey – the logistics industry – is a vast and highly optimised network of solutions. It makes great use of modern technologies and deploys some of the world's largest distributed computing systems.
At DAI we are experts in writing Warehouse Management Systems – the software control systems managing the hubs in this global network – and broader supply chain solutions. The tools of our trade are programming languages and software development processes. Our product is robust, real-time always-on software running on servers that manage billions of real-world interactions every year. We build systems that move robots, direct conveyors, control traffic, load lorries, give voice directions to workers, and interface with hundreds of different systems, machines and technologies.
We are looking for experienced software engineers perhaps like you. You will have at least two years of software experience – C/C++, and a low-level understanding of operating systems (*nix) and how computers work.
You will be passionate about understanding technology, and want to gain an expertise in the unique engineering challenges of the logistics industry. You will be intelligent, inquisitive, analytical, and able to come up with creative and inventive solutions to complex problems. You will also be well-rounded – able to work in a team, and to communicate well with colleagues and with customers.
